- maybe... let`s hope for the best. you might try the following:
-
- 1 - open your girlfriend and remove powersupply, drives, mother- and
- daughterboard. clean pcbs from dust on both sides with a small & soft
- brush. reassemble and check functionality. i think this sould help in most
- cases because amiga 3000 hasn`t a good dust protection.
-
- 2 - remove customchips (use a plcc chippuller for agnus) and chipmem. clean
- chips and sockets first with brush and then with alcohol from other dirt,
- e. g. fingerprints. watch out for any signs of corrosion on chip pins or
- sockets, if you find any, remove it with a small knife or very small
- screwdriver. if there are any worn out sockets, replace them. reassemble
- and test again.
-
- 3 - the hard way: get another a3000 and swap customchips and chipram. you
- should also change u202 (pal 16l8d) that often caused a "lost pixels on
- the screen" problem.
